Niger State to Implement Competence Test for Public School Principals and Head Teachers

Dr. Hadiza Asabe Mohammed, the Commissioner of Basic and Secondary Education in Niger State, has revealed plans by the government to conduct a competence test for public school principals and head teachers. The aim is to transform the educational landscape in the state and enhance overall development.

Addressing an interactive session with public school principals and head teachers in Niger South Senatorial District in Bida, Mohammed announced the upcoming competency examination for all school administrators and teachers. The initiative is intended to streamline the education system, ensuring a more professional and competent teaching workforce.

Mohammed emphasized that the competence test would contribute to addressing the shortage of qualified teachers in schools. She urged school administrators to embrace proactivity and discipline in managing their institutions effectively. The commissioner highlighted that the interactive session served to inform school managers about the government’s aspirations, under the leadership of Umaru Mohammad Bago, to revolutionize the education sector in Niger State.
