Hashimu Sulaiman Dungurawa, the chairman of the New Nigeria Peoples Party (NNPP), has drawn parallels between Kano State Governor Abba Kabir Yusuf and President Bola Tinubu, lauding both leaders for their display of exemplary leadership qualities.
Expressing admiration for President Tinubu’s decisive action in suspending a minister and other officials over suspected corruption, Dungurawa highlighted that Governor Yusuf took similar action by suspending a managing director accused of forging government documents to illegitimately acquire property worth billions of Naira in the state. Speaking to reporters in Kano State, the NNPP chairman also commended President Tinubu for his role as a commendable democratic leader.
Dungurawa emphasized the importance of protecting democracy and praised President Tinubu for fostering a transparent government that prioritizes the interests of the people. He contrasted this approach with past leadership lacking democratic maturity, commitment, and consideration for the public.
Highlighting specific instances, Dungurawa cited President Tinubu’s removal of a suspected embezzling minister and the suspension of an Executive Secretary, showcasing a commitment to accountability. Drawing parallels, he pointed out Governor Yusuf’s actions in Kano, where he suspended a managing director for fraudulent activities involving government property and took similar measures against officials deviating from due process.
In concluding, Dungurawa underscored the shared commitment of both President Tinubu and Governor Yusuf to combating corruption and serving the people, emphasizing the importance of democratic values and transparent governance.
