The Institute of Chartered Secretaries and Administrators of Nigeria (ICSAN) celebrated a historic milestone with the inauguration of its Kaduna State Chapter on Wednesday, November 15, 2023. This inaugural event marked the institute’s first presence in the Northern Region of the country.
The hybrid inauguration ceremony attracted a significant audience, with stakeholders participating from key locations such as Lagos, Abuja, Port Harcourt, Uyo, Benin, Enugu, and other states. The proceedings included the investiture of Alhaji Tijjani Mohammed, FCIS, as the Pioneer Chairman of the Kaduna State Chapter.
Hajiya Habiba Shekarau, the Head of Service, Kaduna State Government, served as the Chairman of the Occasion, while the Special Guests of Honour were His Excellency, Former Governor of Kaduna State, Alhaji Dr. Mukhtar Ramalan Yero, and Alhaji Abubakar Abdullahi, the Auditor General of Kaduna State.
Distinguished guests representing various professional bodies, including CITN, NBA, CIPMN, ANAN, and members of the Association of Professional Bodies in Nigeria (APBN), were also present at the event.
The inauguration ceremony reflects the commitment of Mrs. Funmi Ekundayo, FCIS, to fulfill her promise of making ICSAN a truly national association with a presence in all geopolitical zones. Mrs. Nkechi Onyenso, FCIS, Chairman of the Committee on Publicity and Advocacy, emphasized that this inauguration is the first of many planned during the presidency of Mrs. Funmi Ekundayo, the 29th and first female president of the Institute.
ICSAN, as a leading professional body, is dedicated to enhancing the status and practice of Corporate Governance and Public Administration in Nigeria. It holds the exclusive authority to conduct examinations leading to the qualification of Chartered Secretaries and Administrators.
