Nigerian Army and Lagos Taskforce Forge Strategic Partnership to Boost Security
The Nigerian Army and the Lagos State Taskforce have pledged to strengthen their inter-agency partnership in a bid to enhance security across Lagos State, committing to creating “a safer city for all.” This collaboration was confirmed in a statement issued by the Director of Press and Public Affairs for the Lagos State Taskforce on Tuesday.
Brigadier General Olawale Oyekola, Commander of the 9th Brigade of the Nigerian Army, made this commitment during a courtesy visit to CSP Adetayo Akerele, Chairman of the Lagos State Taskforce, at the agency’s headquarters.
During the meeting, both parties discussed strengthening inter-agency synergy to bolster security efforts and ensure the protection of lives and property in Lagos.
“Brigadier General Oyekola commended CSP Akerele for his agency’s recent achievements in sanitising Lagos roads and providing a secure environment for residents,” the statement read.
The Commander reiterated the Nigerian Army’s readiness to assist the Lagos State Taskforce whenever required, while CSP Akerele expressed his gratitude for the Army’s continuous support. He reaffirmed the Taskforce’s dedication to securing the state, aligning with the Lagos State Government’s THEMES PLUS Agenda.
Both leaders highlighted the importance of maintaining strong ties between the military and law enforcement to ensure lasting security improvements across the state.
The visit solidified the ongoing commitment to operational cooperation and mutual support between the Nigerian Army and the Lagos State Taskforce.
