Abia State Governor, Alex Otti, has issued a directive for the immediate dissolution of the 17 local government transition committees in the state. Furthermore, the chairmen and vice chairmen of these committees have been relieved of their duties.
The Chief Press Secretary to the Governor, Ferdinand Ekeoma, confirmed the decision in a statement, stating that the removed chairmen are required to hand over to the Heads of Service of their respective Local Governments.
Additionally, the Governor has also ordered the removal of the education secretaries from the 17 local governments. As per the statement, each affected education secretary is instructed to hand over to the most senior director.
These directives are to be implemented without delay, and the individuals affected are urged to ensure a smooth transition of power within the local government areas.
