Hilda Baci’s Tears of Joy: Nigerian Chef Breaks Guinness World Record for Longest Cooking Marathon

A heartwarming video has been circulating on social media, capturing the emotional moment Hilda Baci, the newest holder of the longest cooking marathon record, burst into tears and offered prayers of gratitude upon receiving confirmation from Guinness World Records (GWR).

The video showcases the elation and deep emotions experienced by Hilda Baci as she realizes her remarkable accomplishment. GWR recently announced that Baci, with a cooking time of 93 hours 11 minutes, has officially become the record holder.

In an official statement published on their website, GWR stated, “Following a thorough review of all the evidence, Guinness World Records can now confirm that Hilda Effiong Bassey, better known as Hilda Baci, has officially broken the record for the longest cooking marathon (individual), with a time of 93 hours 11 minutes.”

During her four-day culinary feat, the 26-year-old Nigerian chef cooked over 100 pots of food. Although Hilda aimed to set a record of 100 hours, a slight deduction was made from her final total due to mistakenly taking extra minutes during one of her rest breaks early on in the attempt.

The viral video captures the sheer joy and excitement radiating from the talented chef as she receives recognition for her remarkable achievement.

This outstanding accomplishment by Hilda Baci surpasses the previous record of 87 hours 45 minutes set by Lata Tondon from India in 2019.
