Governor Abba Yusuf Commits to Rehabilitation and Education for Minors

Kano State Governor, Abba Yusuf, has pledged to provide rehabilitation and educational support for the 76 minors recently released from detention. In a statement made on Tuesday night, Yusuf assured the public that his administration would assist the children in rebuilding their lives following their release.

Governor Unaware of Minors’ Arrest Until Court Appearance

Governor Yusuf revealed that he had no knowledge of the minors’ arrest until their arraignment at the Federal High Court in Abuja. Upon learning of the incident, he immediately took action, directing the Attorney-General and Commissioner for Justice to oversee the case and ensure the minors’ well-being.

Health Assessments for Released Minors

The Governor visited the Muhammadu Buhari Specialist Hospital, where a team of medical professionals was assigned to evaluate the physical and mental health of the released minors. The assessment aims to address any trauma or health issues stemming from their time in detention.
