Lagos State Governor Reaffirms Commitment to Workers at Thanksgiving Event

Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu of Lagos State reiterated the government’s dedication to the welfare of workers during the annual interdenominational thanksgiving service held for the Year 2023 Lagos State Public Service Week. Represented by Chief of Staff Tayo Ayinde, the governor urged civil servants to rededicate themselves to efficient and effective service delivery for the benefit of residents.

The event, themed “A Transformed Life for a Greater Service,” was attended by First Lady Dr. Ibijoke Sanwo-Olu, represented by Mrs. Bukola Akosile, as well as Barr. (Mrs.) Abimbola Salu-Hundeyin, Secretary to the Lagos State Government, Mr. Hakeem Muri-Okunola, Head of Service, and numerous civil servants.

Governor Sanwo-Olu commended the civil servants for their valuable contributions to the success of his administration, emphasizing the government’s commitment to their welfare. He pledged to continue improving their working conditions and rewarding their hard work.

The First Lady, represented by Mrs. Bukola Akosile, read a Bible passage during the service, while Mr. Hakeem Muri-Okunola, the Head of Service, praised the diligence of workers and prayed for the repose of those who passed away last year. He urged civil servants to continue providing quality service as they support Governor Sanwo-Olu’s THEMES+ Agenda.

Guest Minister Prof. Samuel Daramola, a Provincial Pastor of the Redeemed Christian Church of God, Lagos Province 69 Ogudu, highlighted the reasons for celebrating God’s blessings in the lives of civil servants and the state. He emphasized the pivotal role of public servants in driving economic growth and encouraged them to uphold integrity and godliness in their work.

Prayers were offered during the service for Lagos State, Nigeria, Governor Sanwo-Olu, Deputy Governor Dr. Obafemi Hamzat, Speaker of the Lagos House of Assembly Rt. Hon. Mudashiru Obasa, the legislature, judiciary, and all public servants in Lagos State.
