Lagos State Grieves as Chief Ajose-Adeogun Passes Away at 96

Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu of Lagos State has expressed deep sadness over the demise of Chief Mobolaji Ajose-Adeogun at the age of 96. In a heartfelt message, the governor conveyed his condolences to the family, friends, and associates of the late Chief Ajose-Adeogun.

Governor Sanwo-Olu described the passing of Chief Ajose-Adeogun as a monumental loss not only to Lagos State but to the entire nation of Nigeria. He highlighted the significant contributions made by the late Chief Ajose-Adeogun to the community of Isale Eko, where he was held in high regard for his positive impact.

Chief Ajose-Adeogun’s illustrious career with Shell Petroleum Limited and his service as a public officer at the national level were also acknowledged by Governor Sanwo-Olu. The governor emphasized Chief Ajose-Adeogun’s role as a proud representative of Lagos State during his tenure in the Federal Executive Council, where he made valuable contributions to the growth and development of Nigeria.

The governor took to his official Twitter handle to express his condolences. In his tweet, he wrote, “My condolences to the family, friends, and associates of Chief Mobolaji Ajose-Adeogun who passed on at the age of 96. His death is a great loss to Lagos State and indeed Nigeria.”

Governor Sanwo-Olu further highlighted Chief Ajose-Adeogun’s distinguished service as a two-term Federal Commissioner for Cooperatives and Supply in 1975. He also commended Chief Ajose-Adeogun’s role as the Federal Commissioner for Special Duties and his contributions to the development of the Federal Capital Territory, where he played a pivotal role in designing the Master Plan of Abuja during his tenure as the FCT Minister.

Additionally, the governor recognized Chief Ajose-Adeogun’s accomplishments as a business titan in the manufacturing and real estate sectors, praising his significant contributions to the economy of Lagos State.

Governor Sanwo-Olu concluded his message by offering prayers for the eternal rest of Chief Mobolaji Ajose-Adeogun, asking for God’s blessings and comfort for the grieving family.
