Veteran Nollywood actress Ngozi Ezeonu has sparked discussions online after publicly criticizing some young women for their inappropriate dress choices at an audition. The actress, who served as a judge at the event, expressed her dissatisfaction with the appearance of two young ladies who showed up without wearing bras.
A video of the incident, shared widely on TikTok by #mrdoingscartel, shows Ezeonu addressing the issue sternly. She voiced her disappointment, stating that such attire was unsuitable for an audition, particularly one where she was part of the judging panel.
In the video, Ezeonu can be heard admonishing the young women, emphasizing the importance of dressing decently and professionally in industry settings. She declared that anyone dressed in such a manner would face immediate disqualification if she were a judge at the audition.
“Any day I’m on any audition table and anyone comes to me dressed like this, I will disqualify that person,” she stated emphatically. “How can you come to an audition without a bra and with a crop top? It’s wrong.”
Ezeonu questioned the motives behind their attire, asking who they were trying to impress. She further explained that such behavior contributes to negative perceptions of the acting profession. Drawing on her personal experience, she said, “I’m a serious-minded actor; you can’t catch me dressed like this, even when I was your age. It’s wrong. You carry breasts, leave breasts without a bra — ahnahn, why?”
The actress’s remarks have sparked mixed reactions online, with some viewers praising her for upholding professional standards, while others have debated the appropriateness of her public critique.
