President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has congratulated Vice President Kashim Shettima on his 59th birthday, describing him as a loyal partner and a steadfast leader whose service to Nigeria has been exemplary.
In a goodwill message issued on Tuesday, September 2, 2025, the President praised Shettima’s courage, sense of duty, and unwavering belief in Nigeria’s greatness.
“Since we embarked on this journey, united by the shared vision of building a more prosperous nation, your courage, tenacity, and determination have remained unshaken,” Tinubu said.
He recalled Shettima’s record of public service, first as Governor of Borno State for eight years and later as Senator representing Borno Central, noting that he consistently demonstrated that leadership is about service, not privilege.
“Your service to Nigeria, fueled by your passion for democracy, good governance, and economic development, has been remarkable,” the President stated.
Tinubu lauded Shettima’s loyalty and support as Vice President, stressing that his choice of Shettima as a deputy was based on competence and character.
“Every day, you have justified that choice by strengthening our work, bringing fresh perspectives, and upholding our commitment to Nigerians,” he added.
Highlighting the Vice President’s role in advancing the administration’s Renewed Hope Agenda, Tinubu said Shettima had been instrumental in forging global partnerships, driving food security, and spearheading investment reforms.
“In the months ahead, as we unlock new trade corridors and deliver more schools, hospitals, and jobs, our partnership will continue to yield results Nigerians can see and feel,” the President affirmed.
He further described their relationship as one that transcends official duties, symbolising unity across regions and traditions.
On the occasion of Shettima’s 59th birthday, Tinubu wished him renewed strength, wisdom, and many more years of impactful service.
