Governor Ahmadu Fintiri of Adamawa State has affirmed his commitment to upholding the rule of law in the governance of the state. The governor made this commitment in response to his recent victory at the Court of Appeal, which upheld his triumph in the March 18 governorship election.
Speaking to newsmen upon his return to Yola International Airport from Abuja, Governor Fintiri described the court’s decision as an act of God and a clear affirmation of the rule of law. The Court of Appeal in Abuja dismissed the petition filed by the All Progressives Congress (APC) and its governorship candidate, Senator Aisha Binani, challenging Fintiri’s election victory. The court affirmed the lawful declaration of Fintiri, a member of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), as the winner by the Adamawa Governorship Election Petition Tribunal.
Governor Fintiri expressed gratitude to the multitude of supporters from various party affiliations who gathered at the airport to show solidarity. He assured the people that his administration would demonstrate magnanimity in victory and continue to provide services for the overall benefit of all residents in the state.
Furthermore, Governor Fintiri extended advance Christmas wishes to the Christian community and reiterated his government’s commitment to ruling with utmost respect for the rule of law. (NAN)
