Subheading: Bauchi APC Responds to Media Reports, Reiterates Confidence in Federal Government and Judiciary
The Bauchi State chapter of the All Progressives Congress (APC) has emphatically restated its confidence and unwavering support for President Bola Ahmed Tinubu-led federal government and Vice President Kashim Shettima. The party’s response comes in reaction to statements circulating on new media, attributed to certain groups within the party, accusing the president of neglecting APC members from Bauchi.
Addressing journalists at the party’s secretariat in Bauchi, Barrister Saadu Umar, the chairman of the publicity committee of the APC, condemned the accusations, terming them as absurd and far from the truth. Umar asserted that the APC leadership, the federal government, and the judiciary have not neglected or maltreated the Bauchi State APC, its members, or the entire population of Bauchi State.
Umar highlighted President Tinubu’s high regard for Bauchi, noting that two sons of the state were appointed to lead critical ministries such as foreign affairs, health, and social welfare. He emphasized that this manifestation of trust signifies the president’s commitment to the welfare and representation of Bauchi at the federal level.
Furthermore, Umar expressed the party’s full confidence in the judiciary as an institution. He stated that the Bauchi APC has accepted all judgments delivered by the courts faithfully, highlighting the judiciary’s impartiality in maintaining some APC seats despite losing the governorship case challenging the election of Governor Bala Mohammed of PDP at the apex court. The party reiterates its commitment to upholding the rule of law and respecting judicial decisions.
