Champions League Final: Supercomputer Gives PSG Edge Over Arsenal Ahead of Budapest Clash

As the UEFA Champions League final draws closer in Budapest on Saturday, a supercomputer prediction by Opta has tipped Paris Saint-Germain (PSG) as slight favourites to defeat Arsenal.

According to the projection, PSG have a 56 per cent chance of retaining their Champions League title, while Arsenal are rated at 44 per cent likelihood of lifting the trophy.

The final will see PSG, the defending champions, face Arsenal at the Puskás Aréna in a highly anticipated clash between two of Europe’s strongest sides.

PSG are aiming to become the first club outside Real Madrid to successfully defend the Champions League title in the modern era, while Arsenal are chasing a historic double by winning both the Premier League and the Champions League in the same season.

Arsenal enter the final as newly crowned Premier League champions and are appearing in their first Champions League final in 20 years.

PSG forward Khvicha Kvaratskhelia has been in outstanding form, leading all players in the knockout stages with 10 goal contributions and becoming the first player to score or assist in seven consecutive knockout matches in a single Champions League season.

Historically, only three English clubs have achieved the league-and-Europe double: Liverpool, Manchester United, and Manchester City.

PSG, meanwhile, are seeking to become the first club since Real Madrid to defend the Champions League title, a feat the Spanish giants achieved three times between 2016 and 2018.

The final in Budapest is expected to be a closely contested encounter between two sides looking to etch their names further into European football history.
