Nigeria’s D’Tigress achieved a notable 75-62 victory over Australia’s Opals in women’s basketball at the Paris Olympics on Monday. The match, held at the Pierre Mauroy Stadium, was marked by a standout performance from point guard Ezinne Kalu, who played a crucial role in leading the Rena Wakama-coached team through a challenging game.
Kalu’s clutch performance was key in helping the D’Tigress resist a late comeback attempt by the Australians, marking Nigeria’s first Olympic win in women’s basketball since the Athens 2004 Games.
