In a recent development, the Federal Government has responded to Governor Bello Matawalle’s call for an investigation by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) into the presidency and outgoing ministers.
Governor Matawalle of Zamfara state exercised his freedom of expression by expressing his opinion on the matter.
Governor Matawalle urged the EFCC Chairman, Abdulrasheed Bawa, to broaden their investigation and focus on the Presidency and members of the Federal Executive Council (FEC), rather than solely targeting governors.
He emphasized the importance of a comprehensive and unbiased investigation.
The governor’s remarks prompted a reaction from the Federal Government, delivered through the Minister of Information and Culture, Alhaji Lai Mohammed.
The Minister stated that Governor Matawalle was expressing his personal opinion and had the right to make suggestions.
