Delta State, Nigeria – On Wednesday, the Governor of Delta State, Sheriff Oborevwori, submitted a list of 25 nominees for commissioner positions to the State Assembly. Among the candidates is Orode Ibori, the daughter of former Delta State Governor, James Ibori.
According to official documents seen by National Daily, Orode Ibori’s name appeared as the 14th candidate on the list sent to the lawmakers for confirmation.
The submission of the nominees to the Delta State House of Assembly aligns with Section 192(2) of the 1999 Constitution, which requires confirmation for the appointment of commissioners.
The list comprises several other candidates, including Jamani Tommy Ejiro, Tilije Fidelis Okenmor, Onoriode Agofure, Joan Onyemaechi Adanioma, Uduaghan Orode, Aniagwu Charles, Jerry Ehiwario, Barrister Funye Manager, Izeze Rume Reuben, Michael Anoka, Isaac Wilkie, and Oligida Samuel.
The State Assembly will now review the nominations and proceed with the confirmation process to appoint the new commissioners who will serve in various capacities to contribute to the development and progress of Delta State.
