KATSINA, NIGERIA – Hajiya Hauwa’u Adamu, the mother of renowned Hausa musician Dauda Adamu, popularly known as Rarara, has regained her freedom after 20 days in captivity. The news was confirmed by Rarara on his verified Instagram handle on Wednesday morning.
Details surrounding the 75-year-old’s release remain unclear, but unconfirmed reports suggest that millions of naira were paid as ransom to secure her freedom. Hajiya Adamu was abducted last month in Katsina State.
The Katsina State Police Command previously confirmed the arrest of two suspects linked to the abduction. Further details on the case and the circumstances of her release are yet to be disclosed.
