Imo Social Contract Group Urges Newly Appointed Officials to Excel

The Imo Social Contract Group (ISCG), a good governance organization, has called upon recently appointed officials in Imo State to demonstrate excellence in their new roles. Additionally, the group encouraged Governor Hope Uzodimma to remain focused on his vision of transforming the state into a developmental hub within Nigeria.

In a statement issued by the group’s convener, Dr. Fabian Ihekweme, ISCG commended Governor Uzodimma for prioritizing merit, experience, and proficiency in the selection of his personal aides, notably Chief Ferdinand Uzodimma as deputy chief of staff (general services).

The organization praised the governor for transcending narrow and divisive considerations to appoint individuals based on merit, aligning with his administration’s commitment to leveraging local talents to ensure effective governance and productivity across sectors.

Highlighting Chief Ferdinand Uzodimma’s appointment as a commendable move, ISCG emphasized that it reflects meritocracy, citing his competence, administrative expertise, extensive experience, track record of performance, and unwavering loyalty to the state.

ISCG urged Governor Uzodimma and the newly appointed officials, including Chief Cosmos Iwu, Barr. Nnamdi Anyaehie, Barr. Sydney Agbor, Patrick Ekeji, Barr. Enyinnaya Onuegbu, and Sam Nwaobasi, to excel in their respective roles.

While acknowledging that personal aides do not have direct governmental responsibilities, ISCG noted Governor Uzodimma’s consistent adherence to merit, capacity, competence, loyalty, and commitment in making such appointments.

The organization emphasized the even distribution of political appointments and personal aides across various segments of the state to ensure fair representation. It emphasized that Chief Ferdinand Uzodimma’s appointment is well-deserved, considering his vast experience and allegiance to Imo State.

ISCG hailed Chief Ferdinand Uzodimma as a respected leader with a wealth of administrative skills acquired through years of service as a Local Government Councilor, Transition Committee Chairman, and Local Government Sole Administrator, among other roles.

The organization concluded by stating that disregarding such a wealth of experience would have been detrimental to the people of Imo State, emphasizing Governor Uzodimma’s commitment to inclusive governance and progress for all.
