The Minister of Information and National Orientation, Alhaji Muhammed Idris, has emphasized the imperative of collective unity as a cornerstone for realizing the true benefits of democracy. During a courtesy visit by the APC North-Central Zone on Thursday, the Minister underscored that democracy’s essence lies in fostering progress, development, and unity among the populace.
In a statement by the Deputy Director of Press, Suleiman Haruna, Minister Idris highlighted the commitment of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu to promoting unity and economic prosperity in Nigeria. He stressed the importance of introspection, stating, “National re-orientation is at the heart of the change and hope that we all desire for this country; each one of us has the responsibility to recover his steps and do the right thing.”
Minister Idris called on party members to unite and engage actively, emphasizing that achieving greatness for the nation hinges on their collective efforts. He urged the party to galvanize citizens toward a common understanding and shared vision for the country through effective party machinery at all levels.
In response, the National Vice Chairman of the APC North Central, Alh. Bawa Rijau, congratulated Minister Idris on his appointment and thanked President Bola Ahmed Tinubu for choosing one of their own for the vital role. The delegation assured the Minister of their unwavering support and called on him to collaborate with fellow cabinet members to expedite development in the North Central zone.
“The North Central zone performed admirably in the last election, and as a result, we expect you and your cabinet colleagues to work together to safeguard the interests of the North Central,” Alh. Bawa Rijau stated confidently.
