Oyo State Prepares to Host Joint Odua Trade Fair with Five Southwest States

The Oyo State government has announced its plans to host a joint Odua Trade Fair in Ibadan, bringing together stakeholders from Osun, Ogun, Ondo, Oyo, and Ekiti states. This initiative aims to promote trade and entrepreneurship in the South-West region.

Launch of Farmers Market

During a stakeholders’ meeting on the ODU’A International Trade Fair 2024, held at the Trade Fair Complex, EXPOYO, Commissioner for Trade, Industry, Investment, and Cooperatives, Adeniyi Adebisi, emphasized the launch of a farmers market. This market will offer a platform for local farmers to sell their produce at affordable prices, thereby enhancing their economic empowerment and supporting agricultural development in Oyo State.

Adebisi praised Governor Seyi Makinde for revitalizing trade fairs in the state, referencing the success of the recent Oyo State International Trade Fair, EXPOYO 2024.

Trade Fair Details

Kola Akosile, Chairman of the Organising Committee for the ODU’A International Trade Fair 2024, announced that the theme for this year’s fair will be “Harnessing Food Security Systems and Natural Resources for Sustainable Development and Wealth Creation.” The event is scheduled to take place from October 18 to 29, 2024, at the Trade Fair grounds in Sango, Ibadan.
