Tinubu’s Alleged Use of Different Names Revealed in Documents Presented to the Court
The Presidential Election Petitions Court (PEPC) has accepted certified copies of academic and work records belonging to President Bola Tinubu, which were submitted by the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) and its 2023 presidential candidate, Atiku Abubakar.
The records presented before the court unveiled that Tinubu had registered under different names with the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC).
On Friday, the documents, including a B.Sc. certificate from Chicago State University, an NYSC Discharge Certificate, and a certificate of service from Mobil Nigeria Oil Plc, were introduced by the PDP through their witness, Mike Enahoro Ebah, Esq., who was subpoenaed for the purpose.
Ebah acknowledged that the documents were allegedly obtained by Tinubu but bore the name ‘Bola Adekunle Tinubu’. These documents shed light on Tinubu’s academic qualifications and his past employment.
Under the guidance of PDP counsel Chris Uche, SAN, the witness also submitted nomination forms EC13 and EC9, accompanied by the respective letters addressed to INEC.
As the PEPC reviews the submitted records, the revelation of Tinubu’s alleged use of different names raises further questions. The court will carefully consider the evidence and arguments presented by both parties as the presidential election petitions continue to unfold.
