Reps Member David Idris Zacharias Empowers 240 Youths and Women with Skills Training in Kogi State

David Idris Zacharias, a member of the House of Representatives representing Ibaji, Idah, Igalamela/Idolu Federal Constituency of Kogi State, has successfully facilitated the training of 240 youths and women in various skills within Kogi State.

The training, organized over the weekend in collaboration with the National Institute of Construction Technology and Management and ICENT Construction Company Limited, saw active participation from constituents within the Reps Constituency.

Zacharias underscored that the initiative to empower over 240 members of his constituency was a direct fulfillment of his campaign promises to uplift and empower young people and women. He stated, “This empowerment is in fulfillment of some of my campaign promises, to empower our youth and mothers, to alleviate poverty and create a better standard of living for our people.”

The lawmaker highlighted the potential impact of mechanized farming on boosting productivity and alleviating the challenges faced by Nigerian youths in agriculture. He emphasized a commitment to ongoing support for the community, ensuring an enhanced standard of living for all.

Beneficiaries, drawn from Abaji, Idah, Igalamela/Idolu Federal Constituency, received support from community leaders in the initiative.

Representing ICENT Construction Company Limited, Newton Anderson emphasized the critical importance of empowering individuals in various entrepreneurial ventures. He pledged support from his company, stating, “This is a critical moment to get people involved in various entrepreneurial ventures, to acquire basic skills capable of making them drivers and triggers of economic revolutions.”

The beneficiaries underwent training in chemical works, liquid soap making, air fresheners, Vaseline, perfume, and other essential skills. One beneficiary, Musa Aminat Peace from OFU LGA, expressed readiness for business, having learned makeup and gele tying, stating, “I can tie gele for those who want to do weddings and even do makeup. God bless our Honourable.”
