In a tragic incident on Monday morning, a Nigerian Air Force (NAF) helicopter crashed in Tami village of Igabi Local Government Area of Kaduna State. The crash, which occurred around 5 a.m., prompted first responders to quickly rush to the site upon hearing a loud sound.
Eyewitnesses reported seeing the pilot emerging from the wreckage, with a team of military officers from the Nigerian Air Force arriving promptly to secure the area and conduct an initial investigation.
The cause of the crash remains unknown at this time, as the Nigerian Air Force has yet to release an official statement regarding the incident.
In a separate incident, approximately 20 travellers were abducted by gunmen on the Sagamu-Ijebu-Ode Expressway on Sunday at around 9 p.m. The attackers ambushed the travellers between the Sagamu Area Command of the Nigeria Police and Ilisan township.
Chairman of the Ilisan Development Council, Wemmy Osude, confirmed the incident and urged caution for those traveling on the road. He has communicated with the Sagamu Police Area Commander in hopes of rescuing the victims and bringing the criminals to justice
