Nigerian football star Victor Osimhen has asserted that his value exceeds a €100m price tag, citing his unique abilities and accomplishments on the pitch. The Napoli striker, currently on a season-long loan at Turkish club Galatasaray, remains in the spotlight following a busy summer transfer window that saw him linked to top European clubs, including Manchester United, Paris Saint-Germain, Juventus, and Liverpool.
Despite late efforts by Chelsea and PSG to sign the Super Eagles forward, a hefty €130m release clause prevented a deal, ultimately leading to his loan move to Turkey. On Monday, transfer expert Fabrizio Romano reported that Chelsea is planning a £40m bid for Osimhen during the January transfer window, though Napoli has clarified that no negotiations are currently taking place.
In response to discussions surrounding his valuation, Osimhen insisted he is worth more than €100m. “I am worth more than €100m. There are few players like me in the world who have achieved the same results and success as me,” Osimhen told Tutto Sport. “Everything is linked to my characteristics, the things I do on the pitch, and my quality. I think I deserve a high valuation.”
Osimhen has already made an impact in Turkey, scoring twice in a dramatic 3-3 draw against Kasımpaşa last weekend. In his four games for Galatasaray, he has registered two goals and four assists, continuing to impress on the international stage.
The Nigerian striker joined Napoli from Lille in 2020 for a club-record fee of €70m, plus €10m in bonuses. His stellar performance for the Italian club, particularly during the 2022/23 season, saw him lead Napoli to their first Serie A title in over three decades, netting 26 league goals and securing the Serie A top scorer’s award.
