2027: Tinubu’s Policies Will Return Oyo to APC, Says Lam-Adesina

A former member of the House of Representatives, Dapo Lam-Adesina, has expressed confidence that the All Progressives Congress (APC) will reclaim Oyo State in the 2027 general elections.

Lam-Adesina, who represented Ibadan North-East/South-East Federal Constituency from 2015 to 2019, said reforms introduced by President Bola Tinubu would pave the way for the party’s victory in the state.

In a statement issued on Monday, he argued that several opposition-controlled states have aligned with the APC due to the perceived impact of the President’s policies, adding that Oyo State should not remain outside the ruling party’s fold.

According to him, the party’s recent online registration drive and intensified grassroots mobilisation across the 33 local government areas would strengthen its structure ahead of the polls.

He maintained that remaining in opposition at the state level for nearly eight years has not served Oyo’s best interests, stressing that alignment with the Federal Government would attract greater developmental benefits, particularly with increased allocations to local governments.

On his political ambition, Lam-Adesina disclosed that consultations with key stakeholders and supporters are ongoing, noting that a clear direction regarding his 2027 plans would be made known in due course.
