Akin Osuntokun, the Director General of the Labour Party (LP) Presidential Campaign Council, has called on Nigerians to shift their attention away from politically motivated tribal disputes orchestrated by the All Progressives Congress (APC) and focus on exposing corrupt politicians actively contributing to the country’s decline.
In a statement on Friday, Osuntokun emphasized the importance of investigating the actions of the Nigerian military to understand the factors hindering its effectiveness, particularly following the unprovoked massacre of over 160 individuals in communities across Barkin Ladi, Mangu, and Bokkos local government areas of Plateau State.
While asserting that the Nigerian military has the capability to address terrorism threats, Osuntokun urged a thorough examination of the obstacles impeding its actions and identification of those responsible.
He stated, “Rather than getting entangled in politically motivated tribal disputes fueled by the APC, it is crucial to redirect our focus towards a more pressing issue—the corrupt politicians who are actively contributing to the deterioration of our country.”
Osuntokun highlighted the need to ask critical questions to uncover the forces benefiting from ongoing terrorism, emphasizing that uniting against corruption should be a shared priority among citizens.
