Former Esan South-East LGA Chairman Declares Intent for Edo 2024 Governorship

Former chairman of Esan South-East Local Government Area (LGA) and ex-Commissioner in the state officially announces bid for the APC governorship ticket in the upcoming Edo 2024 election, emphasizing commitment to elevate the standard of living for Edo residents.

In a recent interview, the aspirant shared his motivation for entering the gubernatorial race, citing a belief in the positive impact of righteous leadership, as witnessed by the supportive crowd during his official declaration at the party secretariat.

When questioned about his qualifications compared to other aspirants, he highlighted his long-standing commitment to the APC, noting his role as a founding member and his extensive service to the party, including transitioning through different political formations. The candidate asserted that his track record, encompassing various leadership positions such as Edo State Library Board chairman and commissioner, uniquely positions him as the most qualified contender.

Addressing concerns about potential party endorsements for other candidates, the aspirant dismissed rumors of Senator Monday Okpebholo and former Minister of Works Arch Mike Onolenmemen being favored. He expressed confidence in the wisdom of the party leadership, emphasizing that such decisions would not align with the party’s goals.

When asked about his goals if granted the APC ticket, the aspirant outlined a vision for a people-oriented government focused on infrastructure, security, quality education, and job creation. Drawing on his 32 years in the engineering and construction industry, he expressed confidence in his ability to generate employment opportunities for Edo residents.

Lastly, responding to reports of Governor Godwin Obaseki sponsoring a high-profile candidate from the aspirant’s constituency in the PDP, he emphasized his own brand name and philanthropic endeavors as key factors that resonate with Edo voters across party lines, expressing certainty in his ability to secure victory based on trust and familiarity.
