APC Clarifies: Omo-Agege Not Involved, Cairo Ojougbo to Blame for Anti-Tinubu Actions in Delta State

The All Progressives Congress (APC) in Delta State has refuted claims that Senator Ovie Omo-Agege worked against President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s emergence during the 2023 elections in the state. According to the party, it was actually Cairo Ojougbo and a group of detractors who were responsible for opposing the president.

In a statement issued by the Delta State APC Publicity Secretary, Valentine Onojeghuo, the party asserted that Ojougbo and his group were “sycophantically ingratiating themselves with the national executive committee and the presidential campaign council during the campaigns.”

The statement further highlighted their activities within the state, stating, “They were also actively undermining the party’s prospects in Delta State by openly collaborating with the opposition to defeat APC candidates in various state and national elections.”

The APC criticized Ojougbo and his group, pointing out that their only noteworthy contribution thus far has been captured in videos and photographs, where they can be seen celebrating the party’s electoral losses in the state alongside opposition members.

The party urged President Tinubu to disregard the rhetoric and actions of Cairo Ojougboh, a former member of the party, and his gang of detractors, considering them as unnecessary distractions to the crucial task of nation-building that lies ahead.

This statement aims to set the record straight and clarify the role of Senator Omo-Agege, absolving him of any involvement in activities that were detrimental to President Tinubu’s campaign in Delta State.
