The Oyo State Government has clarified that it has not yet approved a new salary structure for workers in the state. This statement comes in response to a rumor circulating about the government’s supposed approval of a new salary structure.
The government, through a statement signed by Sulaimon Olanrewaju, Chief Press Secretary to Governor Seyi Makinde, debunked the rumor on Wednesday.
The statement reads: “While the government is actively working on reviewing the current salary structure, the committee responsible for this task has not yet submitted its report. Therefore, any information circulating about a new salary structure originating from the state government is completely false and should be disregarded.”
The committee in charge of the review was given a timeframe of eight weeks to submit its report to the state government. The government is still exploring additional measures to alleviate the burdens faced by workers.
This announcement aims to provide clarity and assure the public that no new salary structure has been approved at this time. Workers in Oyo State should await the official report from the committee appointed for this purpose.
