APC Governorship Aspirant, Prince Kassim Afegbua, Outlines Vision for Edo State’s Restoration in 2024

Prince Kassim Afegbua, an All Progressives Congress (APC) governorship aspirant eyeing the Edo State election in 2024, has articulated his commitment to restoring the state to its rightful position of prominence.

During a comprehensive consultation tour across the 18 local government areas over the weekend, Afegbua unveiled a strategic roadmap aimed at fostering peace and unity within the state. The governorship hopeful pledged to prioritize the consolidation of peace and unity before embarking on an ambitious agenda for industrialization, as communicated by his media office.

Under the banner of “LET’S UNITE EDO,” Afegbua’s campaign seeks to shift the prevailing narrative of internal conflicts among the leadership that has hindered the state’s progress.

Afegbua emphasized, “I am aspiring to govern Edo state to relaunch the state on the path of growth and development. Edo state is presently in the news for the wrong reasons. Internal squabbles between and amongst the leadership is unhealthy for development.”

He underscored the detrimental impact of political instability on development, asserting that such an environment is contrary to the essence of the Edo people, renowned as the “heartbeat of the nation.”

Beyond the restoration of political stability, Afegbua outlined key areas for comprehensive development, including Education, Health, Agriculture, Sports, Human Capital Development, and Culture and Tourism. He expressed his commitment to giving these sectors a substantial boost if granted the mandate.

Afegbua asserted, “I am coming to re-ignite that passion for collectivism in critical sectors of the state economy. I will bond with my people, and an article of faith that will be sacrosanct will be enshrined.”

As the 2024 election approaches, Prince Kassim Afegbua aims to usher in a new era for Edo State, focusing on unity, development, and the realization of the state’s full potential.
