Former Vice President Atiku Abubakar, who vied for the presidency under the banner of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in the 2023 general elections, conveyed his heartfelt sorrow on Tuesday following the tragic loss of an unwavering campaign advocate, Muhammad Dakat.
Dakat, a prominent figure as the Director General of the National Solidarity Movement for Atiku/Okowa (NSM) during the 2023 election campaign, met an untimely demise, prompting a somber response from Atiku Abubakar and shedding light on the deep connections forged during the spirited electioneering period.
Atiku, in a statement on Tuesday, declared: “As Director General of the National Solidarity Movement for Atiku/Okowa (NSM), Muhammad brought a huge dose of enthusiasm and inspiration to the assignment of mobilizing compatriots in the last general election.
“Even after the election, he was unwavering in his commitment to the cause.
“Muhammad was a rallying point for young people and a natural leader who led by his convictions and personal example.
“We have lost one of the most Atikulated members of our family at such a young age.”
Atiku’s statement reads: “I have just been briefed about the passing of Muhammad Dakat. As Director General of the National Solidarity Movement for Atiku/Okowa (NSM), Muhammad brought a huge dose of enthusiasm and inspiration to the assignment of mobilizing compatriots in the last general election.
