Bauchi State Governor, Bala Mohammed, has reappointed three of his recently dismissed commissioners as special advisers, less than 48 hours after relieving them of their former positions.
The appointments were announced in a statement on Tuesday by the governor’s Special Adviser on Media and Publicity, Mukhtar Gidado. According to the statement, the decision underscores the governor’s commitment to effective leadership, inclusivity, and the achievement of his administration’s developmental goals.
The new appointees are:
- Abdulhameed Bununu, former Commissioner for Internal Security and Home Affairs, now Special Adviser on Multilateral Coordination and Regional Integration.
- Usman Danturaki, former Commissioner for Information and Communication, now Special Adviser on Labour Matters and Contributory Pension Scheme.
- Madugu Yalams, former Commissioner for Agriculture, now Special Adviser on Technical and Vocational Education.
Governor Mohammed urged the appointees to leverage their experience and expertise to contribute meaningfully to the administration’s vision for Bauchi State.
In the statement, Gidado quoted the governor saying:
“I call on the new appointees to discharge their duties with diligence, transparency, and a renewed focus on improving the lives of the people of Bauchi State.”
The governor reiterated his administration’s dedication to good governance, accountability, and inclusive development for all citizens of the state.
Earlier on Tuesday, Governor Mohammed reshuffled his cabinet, resulting in the dismissal of five commissioners. The shake-up, according to him, was aimed at revitalizing governance and ensuring optimal service delivery.
