In a session held on Wednesday, the Rivers State House of Assembly conducted a rescreening process, granting clearance to all nine former Commissioners for re-appointment into the cabinet of Governor Siminalayi Fubara.
According to LEADERSHIP reports, Governor Fubara had recently resubmitted the names of the nine nominees who had resigned from his cabinet in November 2023 amid a political crisis between him and the immediate-past governor, Nyesom Wike. The former commissioners, demonstrating solidarity with Wike, were not subjected to any questions during the rescreening and were promptly asked to ‘take a bow and leave’ the chamber.
