Herbalist Arrested with 11 Human Bones in Anambra

Security operatives in Anambra State have arrested a herbalist named Ezekiel, found in possession of approximately 11 human bones. The suspect, originally from Ezza in Ebonyi State, was apprehended over the weekend in Neni, Anaocha Local Government Area of Anambra State, where he resides.

The arrest followed a raid on Ezekiel’s residence based on a tip-off from whistleblowers who reported suspicious activities. A video circulating on social media shows the bones, which are from various human body parts, being recovered during the raid.

In interrogation, Ezekiel admitted that the bones were human but claimed they were provided by a relative from Ebonyi State amid ongoing communal clashes. He stated that he uses the bones to create “high-quality charms” for clients.

The video also featured a security operative warning the community to carefully vet individuals they rent to and be vigilant about their tenants’ activities. The operative praised the whistleblower for their role in the operation and urged the public to remain security-conscious and report any suspicious behavior.

Anambra State Police Public Relations Officer, SP Ikenga Tochukwu, confirmed the incident, noting that Ezekiel was intercepted by vigilantes and police from the Neni Division during a routine patrol. “The suspect is currently in custody and undergoing interrogation. Further details will be communicated,” Tochukwu said.
