Former presidential spokesman and current TV host, Laolu Akande, asserted that Nigeria requires bold leadership to confront its multifaceted challenges, particularly in the realms of security and the economy. Speaking on his TV show, ‘Inside Sources with Laolu Akande,’ aired on Channels Television, Akande emphasized the need for leaders who are honest and courageous to address the pressing issues facing the country.
Akande highlighted the widespread hardship and menacing insecurities, stressing that courageous leadership at the top is crucial. He urged leaders to take bold actions, such as dismissing appointed public officials who fail to meet their Key Performance Indicators (KPIs). Akande expressed concern over the lack of consequences and impunity, emphasizing the need for thorough investigations into corruption allegations and holding those responsible accountable.
Addressing issues such as oil theft and Nigeria’s failure to meet its OPEC quota, Akande urged leaders to draw a line in the sand against corruption.
