A Nigerian woman residing in the United Kingdom has taken to TikTok to share a disturbing experience involving strangers who arrived at her home late at night, claiming to have tracked their daughter’s lost phone to her address. The woman, who was alone with her child at the time, is now warning others to be vigilant against potential scams or criminal activity.
The unsettling incident occurred around 9 p.m. on a Wednesday. The woman initially ignored the persistent knocking at her door, but eventually went downstairs to investigate. She was met by a man, a woman, and a teenage girl who claimed the girl’s phone had been lost on a bus and traced to her residence.
Suspicious of their story, the woman checked her own and her child’s bags, finding no phone. Despite this, the strangers insisted the device was inside her home.
Refusing to allow them entry, the woman immediately contacted the police to report the suspicious situation. In her TikTok video, she recounted, “I didn’t answer at first because I wasn’t expecting anybody. When I saw them, they told me the girl’s phone was tracked to my home.”
Days later, the woman revealed that neither the strangers nor the police had followed up on the incident. This lack of communication has fueled her suspicion that the visit may have been a pretext for a robbery or other malicious intent. “No police has come to my house, no police has called me. I don’t know if it’s a scam,” she said, expressing her fear of what might have happened had she opened the door. “Would they have done something to me?”
The woman’s account has garnered significant attention on social media, with many praising her for her quick thinking and caution. The incident has raised concerns about the potential dangers of such tactics and prompted calls for increased vigilance.
