The Senate has inaugurated a committee comprising senators such as Isa Jibrin, Sahabi Ya’u Alhaji, and Adamu Aliero, among others, tasked with investigating the Central Bank of Nigeria’s (CBN) spending in the anchor borrowers programme and the N30 trillion Ways and Means expenditure.
Senate President Godswill Akpabio emphasized the importance of the committee, urging them to leave no stone unturned in recovering any misappropriated funds.
The investigative panel, chaired by Sen. Jibrin Isa, will engage with key stakeholders, including the Minister of Finance, Minister of National Planning, and the CBN, to unravel the mysteries surrounding the spending.
Akpabio stressed the Senate’s commitment to transparency and accountability, urging the committee to conduct impartial and thorough inquiries in the interest of the Nigerian people.
In response, Sen. Jibrin Isa assured that the committee would expedite the investigation without compromise, calling on relevant agencies to provide necessary documents and cooperation.
