Senator Okpebholo Affirms Victory in Edo APC Primaries, Claims Over 6,000-Vote Margin

Senator Monday Okpebholo, an aspirant in the recently concluded All Progressives Congress (APC) gubernatorial primaries in Edo State, has maintained that he emerged victorious with a substantial margin of over 6,000 votes. Despite disruptions during the collation process, Okpebholo urged his supporters to remain calm, expressing confidence in the eventual triumph of justice.

Okpebholo emphasized that, based on the final tally, he secured a convincing victory over his closest rival, Hon. Dennis Idahosa, with 12,145 votes compared to Idahosa’s 5,536 votes. The Edo Central lawmaker assured his supporters that he is committed to returning Edo State to the APC.

While commending the resilience of the State Returning Officer, Dr. Stanley Ugboaja, and the committee members for continuing the collation process despite disruptions, Okpebholo addressed the unfortunate incident where thugs allegedly associated with his rival disrupted the collation venue and invaded the State Secretariat of the party.

In response to the incident, Okpebholo called for unity within the party, urging affected parties to refrain from further escalation of the situation. He expressed confidence in the National Working Committee of the APC, led by Abdullahi Umar Ganduje, to ensure that justice prevails and truth triumphs over falsehood.

Okpebholo concluded by pledging his loyalty to the party, Mr. President, and the transformation agenda of the APC, emphasizing the party’s readiness to reclaim Edo State and foster sustainable development in alignment with the vision of the President.
