Tinubu Appoints Chief Ajuri Ngelale as Special Adviser on Media and Publicity

President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has approved the appointment of Chief Ajuri Ngelale as the Special Adviser to the President on Media and Publicity. The announcement was made through a concise statement issued by Willie Bassey, the Director of Information at the Office of the Secretary to the Government of the Federation.

The appointment is scheduled to take effect on July 31, 2023, and will remain in force until the end of the current administration, unless otherwise determined by the President. In his capacity as the Special Adviser, Chief Ajuri Ngelale is expected to bring his extensive experience to the new role and contribute to the President’s media and publicity efforts.

Chief Ajuri Ngelale expressed his humility and gratitude for President Tinubu’s recognition of his abilities and dedication to the task ahead. He pledged to devote his best efforts to serve effectively in his new capacity.

“I am most humbled and honoured by H.E. President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s recognition of the need for more hard work ahead as I have been appointed as his Official Spokesperson & Special Adviser to the President on Media & Publicity.

“I will give my best as always. I love you all,” Ngelale wrote on his Twitter handle moments after the announcement of his appointment.

Ajuri Ngelale is an editor, columnist, and an investigative reporter

He was born to Chief Precious Osaro Ngelale, former Honourable Minister of State for Water Resources and a German US-born mother.

Ajuri had his secondary education at Government Secondary School in Port Harcourt before heading to the University of Kansas, where he bagged a degree in Political Science.

Afterwards, Ajuri acquired another degree in History from the same university.

Upon returning to Nigeria from the United States, Ajuri worked as a reporter for African Independent Television (AIT) News.

Ajuri has also worked as a Lead Consultant, Public Affairs at the Federal Ministry of Power.

Subsequently, Ajuri also spent some years of his reporting career with Channels TV, where he started working as a TV presenter, producer and senior news correspondent.

After his exit from Channels TV, he was appointed Senior Special Assistant on Public Affairs by President Muhammadu Buhari.
