Umahi’s Son, Osborne, Picks APC Chairmanship Form in Ebonyi

Mr. Osborne Umahi, son of the Minister of Works and former Governor of Ebonyi State, Engr. David Umahi, has obtained the All Progressives Congress (APC) nomination form to contest the chairmanship election in Ohaozara Local Government Area ahead of the August 2026 local council polls.

Osborne, who is the first son of the minister and currently manages his father’s business interests, picked up the form at the APC State Secretariat in Abakaliki.

He was accompanied by party stakeholders, youth leaders and supporters from Ohaozara Local Government Area.

At the secretariat, he was received by members of the APC State Executive Committee led by the party’s state chairman, Mr. Stanley Okoro-Emegha.

Okoro-Emegha described Umahi as an intelligent and capable young politician and businessman, expressing confidence in his capacity to provide effective leadership and move Ohaozara Local Government Area to greater heights.

Speaking after collecting the form, Osborne Umahi thanked the people of Ohaozara for nominating him to contest for the chairmanship position, assuring them that he would justify the confidence reposed in him.

He pledged to carry out his duties diligently, fairly and without fear or favour if elected.

Umahi said youth empowerment would be a central focus of his administration, noting that as a young person, he understands the challenges confronting youths in the area.

“My priority will be youth empowerment and the introduction of innovative programmes that will uplift young people and create opportunities for them,” he said.

He also promised to sustain his father’s legacy in infrastructure development, assuring residents that his administration would prioritise projects that would positively impact lives across the local government.

The Ohaozara Local Government chairmanship election is scheduled to take place in August 2026.
