APC Governorship Primary Winner Senator Okpebholo Calls for Unity Among Opponents

Senator Monday Okpebholo, emerging as the winner of the APC governorship primary election in a rescheduled contest overseen by the Rivers State governor, has extended an appeal to his political rivals, urging them to unite for the common goal of taking control of the state.

In a statement titled “Gratitude and Unity,” signed by his Director of Media & Publicity, Godswill Inegbe, Senator Okpebholo expressed his thanks to the leaders of Edo and members of the APC for their support in securing the victory. Anticipating a challenging campaign, he voiced optimism about the APC’s success in the upcoming September governorship poll.

The statement emphasized the necessity for collective efforts, stating, “Together, we must now work as a formidable team to achieve the collective goal of returning our party to Osadebey Avenue during the main election scheduled for September 21, 2024. No doubt, the road ahead will be challenging, but with the unwavering support and contributions of every member of our great party and the goodwill of the vast majority of Edo people, we’ll certainly emerge victorious in the main election.”

Expressing gratitude to the people of Edo for their support and the jubilant celebrations that followed his declaration as the APC governorship candidate, Senator Okpebholo affirmed his commitment to working towards the shared dreams and aspirations of a new Edo.
