On Friday, Maryam Shetty reacted to her replacement on the ministerial nomination list by President Bola Tinubu, who substituted her with Dr. Mairiga Mahmud from Kano State. In response, she expressed gratitude to President Tinubu for the decision he has made.
The female nominee learned of her withdrawal from the ministerial nomination and the subsequent substitution with another candidate during the Senate plenary session in Abuja on Friday. To her surprise, she had already left her home for the National Assembly for the screening without any prior knowledge of her substitution.
