Three Dead in Multi-Vehicle Crash on Lagos-Ibadan Expressway

Three unidentified passengers were confirmed dead late Thursday following a multi-vehicle collision on the Kara section of the Lagos-Ibadan Expressway. The accident occurred around 7 p.m. near Isheri-Olofin, as a truck transporting sugar lost control and collided with another vehicle, leading to a series of subsequent crashes.

The vehicles involved included an SF3000 truck, a Toyota Camry with the number plate EPE 200 GK, an Isuzu mini truck with the number plate T-1079 LA, and a Honda Accord.

Michael, a fuel attendant at a nearby filling station, reported that the accident involved several vehicles, and some passengers were seen being rushed to the hospital. “The truck driver fled the scene before he could be arrested,” Michael said.

The Lagos State Fire Service, represented by spokesperson Amodu Shakiru, confirmed that their team was on-site to assist with managing the incident, despite it occurring in Ogun State.
